2024 Scarsdale Summer Reading for All Teens

For teens of all ages, rising Grades 6 through 12: It’s almost that time of year all students are waiting for: summer! With that comes the annual Summer Reading Challenge–this year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” Scarsdale teens in rising grades 6-12 can register by downloading the free app, Beanstack, on their phone or tablet.

2024 Scarsdale Middle School Summer Reading at SPL

For teens going into Scarsdale Middle School in Grades 6 through 8: To support Scarsdale Middle School’s summer reading requirements, Scarsdale Public Library’s Teen Services Department teams up with other library departments as well as with Scarsdale Middle School’s teacher librarian, Shana Frazin, to establish and maintain a summer reading section of all readily available materials meeting the prepared-for-back-to-school curricular requirements set by the teachers in:

Young Adult Artists' Showcase of Scarsdale

Every month, Scarsdale Public Library's Teen Services Department collects via this Google Form images of original artworks created by local teens (i.e., those in Grades 6 through 12) to display on our Teen Room flatscreen.

Each teen artist may submit up to five pieces per month. The submission deadline for the following month's showcase is the 15th of the current month.

Path to Empowerment: Empowering High School Girls forum

The Path to Empowerment: Empowering High School Girls forum is brought to you by SHS student Sonya Chen in partnership with the Greenburgh and Scarsdale Public Libraries.

This series was designed to equip girls to feel more empowered, self-confident, and better prepared to handle the day-to-day challenges they encounter. Participation is open to high school girls in grades 9-12.

Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month 2022 in the Teen Room

¡Viva la Cultura!

Ever since 1968, Americans have observed National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th through October 15th, where the contributions, histories, and cultures of those from Spain, Latin America, and the Caribbean are celebrated. Scarsdale Public Library's Teen Room is no different and would like to take the time to showcase some of the best Young Adult lit written by and for those of Hispanic Heritage.
