Event Details

Please join us in the Scott Room for a conversation with author Pat (T. M.) Dunn and friends for a Friday Thriller Book Talk Event. There will be menace and mystery for this October's Friday the 13th!

Alongside two other mystery writers, Pat will be discussing her recently published novel, Her Father's Daughter.

Twenty-five-year-old Linda Donovan has spent her life working for her father, Anthony, at Donovan and Daughter Exterminators in New York City. On the anniversary of her mother's death, her father makes his annual visit to his late wife's grave while Linda heads to a Park Avenue apartment building to work solo. When she arrives, she finds the body of an elderly resident, partially eaten by rats. When the cops show up, they demand to speak to Linda's father. But despite her efforts to contact him, Anthony has gone off the radar.

“Recommended for fans of thriller authors who use multiple perspectives to build the plot, like Mary Kubica and Paula Hawkins.”

T. M. Dunn is also the author of Rebels by Accident and Last Stop on the 6. Dunn has served as Senior Director of the Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College, where she holds an MFA in creative writing. She coaches aspiring and established writers and teaches creative writing workshops. She is the co-host of the Westport Library's podcast, "Go Ahead, Write Something" and co-chair of programming for Sisters-in-Crime CT.

Wendy Whitman has a unique background through her decades-long work as an executive and producer for Court TV and HLN, covering almost every major high-profile murder case in America. Through her knowledge of the most detailed aspects of the crimes, Ms. Whitman has become an expert on the subject of murder in America. Before attending Boston University School of Law, Whitman worked for comedians Lily Tomlin and George Carlin. Since turning her attention to writing, Whitman has published two crime thriller novels, Premonition and the sequel, Retribution, released on July 25, 2023.

Deborah Levison is an author and publicist. Her life has two parts: the first in Canada, where she attended University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music, and the second in Connecticut, where she lives with three children, two doodles, and one husband. Her first book, an acclaimed nonfiction title called The Crate, is a true crime story with echoes of the Holocaust. Levison’s debut novel, A Nest of Snakes, is part thriller, part courtroom drama based on real-life abuse at elite New England private schools.
