Program Description

Event Details

There's no end to what you can do with a vegetable or herb garden with a little creativity. Join two master gardeners and horticultural teachers from the Weinberg Nature Center in the Scott Room for a practical demonstration of the art of pickling. You'll get to learn something of the science behind fermentation and the history of food preservation and get the chance to do some pickling yourself. Each participant will take home a glass mason jar with their own handiwork.

All materials will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE: For food safety reasons, participants will need to wear masks and gloves during the preparation and must sign a waiver before consuming any food.
