This series is intended for those with little to no experience with Python.
Learn to make a simple video game using Python! Over the course of 3 classes (5/10,17, 24) participants will learn the basics of Python including creating methods, utilizing if and for loops, and designing a simple GUI (graphic user interface). While the course will follow a set curriculum, participants will have opportunities to personalize their game. Computer Science topics, such as procedural decomposition, usability, and redundancy will also be covered.
This is a Bring Your Own Device workshop
Participants must bring a laptop or ipad with Intellij IDEA (the free community edition is recommended) or another IDE that supports Python to every session. While most work should be finished during class, participants can expect up to 30 minutes of outside work per class.
All MAD Lab programming is brought to you in partnership with Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Services (SEFSC), Scarsdale Action Youth (SAY), Scarsdale Library and Design Education 4 Resilience.
