Program Description

Event Details

Join us for a screening of HUMAN AGAIN, an award-winning documentary that follows the Phoenix Players Theater Group's journey to produce its devised theater piece, “Maximum Will.” You will witness an impactful journey of incarcerated indivduals as they strive to connect with their humanity through performance arts. After the screening, there will be a Q&A session with founding member Michael Rhynes, who was exonerated last year after 39 years of wrongful incarceration, and current facilitator Bruce A. Levitt, professor at Cornell University. Registration is required.

The Phoenix Players Theater Group was founded in 2009 at Auburn Correctional Facility, a maximum-security prison in Auburn, New York.
