Film Screening & Director Q&A - The Automat with Lisa Hurwitz and Marianne Hardart

Film lovers are in for a treat! Join us in the Scott Room with director Lisa Hurwitz for a screening of her documentary The Automat followed by a Q&A. The Automat tells the story of the food service company Horn & Hardart that famously operated early fast food restaurants in New York and Philadelphia. With appearances in the film from figures such as Mel Brooks, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Carl Reiner, Elliott Gould, and many, many more, The Automat is a fascinating opportunity to revisit the nostalgic past of America's diners.

Ms. Hurwitz will be joined by Scarsdale resident Marianne Hardart, co-author of The Automat: The History, Recipes, and Allure of Horn & Hardart's Masterpiece. Ms. Hardart is also a descendant of Automat co-founder Frank Hardart.
