Shubh Deepavali!

Join us in the Scott Room for an afternoon of food, film, and camaraderie in celebration of Diwali.

We will be screening the film Hotel Salvation (2016) in Hindi with English subtitles. Directed by Shubhashish Bhutiani and starring Adil Hussain, Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Lalit Behl, Hotel Salvation is a funny and heartfelt story of a man accompanying his father to the holy city of Varanasi which the father stubbornly insists is where he wants to die and attain salvation. Winner of the Best Film Award at the New York Indian Film Festival and Official Selection at the Venice International Film Festival.

During and after the film, a delicious assortment of Indian food will be served by local author and chef Rinku Bhattacharya. Ms. Bhattacharya was born in Kolkata, India and currently resides in Westchester. She teaches cooking classes, maintains a popular food blog, and writes for various publications. She is the author of several cookbooks, including The Bengali Five Spice Chronicles
