College Admissions, College Life & the Alternate Learner

College admissions is a complicated and multifaceted process. It is also, unfortunately, unavoidable if you have aspirations of attending a university. For students who have worked very hard to adapt to the rigors of school or who face learning styles that do not always jive with the way school requirements are structured, extra support for this process and beyond can be an incredible benefit. This support can also be a significant boost to students who have followed an untraditional school path. At Gateway our experience with students like this is broad and rich. Providing the extra boost they need and seeing them succeed is our primary objective.

We will address areas such as:

● The college admissions process and timeline

● Creating the right list for each student's profile - all students have choices

● Leaning into your learning differences to make for a productive, successful process

● Staying organized, time management, and the other key skills this process demands

● How to be and stay successful when you reach campus

This is an exciting time in a student’s life; hopefully, our overview will help your child put their best foot forward throughout this journey.
