In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Dan Garcia will take listeners from the Renaissance period all the way through the 20th century, featuring composers such as Villa-Lobos, Manuel Ponce, Francisco Tárrega, Isaac Albéniz, Agustín Barrios, and many more. Come learn about the rich Latin American tradition of virtuoso guitar and and join us for an afternoon with a performer of rare skill and musicianship. There will be a reception and light refreshments following the program.

About the performer

Dan Garcia is a New York City freelance guitarist, producer, composer and educator. A native of Madrid, Spain, Daniel holds a Masters degree in classical guitar performance from the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. In between performances, he is an adjunct professor of Music at Manhattan College. As a performer, Dan is an active classical guitarist and an integral part of the New York City latin and world music scene. Dan runs a classical guitar studio in the Hudson Valley and is the band leader of LOTUS “Spirit of Santana”, a band that celebrates the music the great Carlos Santana.
