Program Description

Event Details

Join us in the Scott Room for a family friendly Chinese language film. This program works to provide Chinese families with an environment where their culture is celebrated and appreciated through films. Each film will be screened in either Mandarin or Cantonese with English subtitles.

The film for April is the 2013 comedy drama American Dreams in China. Loosely based on the true story of the New Oriental Education & Technology Group, the film begins in 1985 during the start of China's study-abroad craze when students were convinced that the most reliable, most prestigious was to get ahead was to study at an American school. Three young Chinese men from poor backgrounds - Cheng Dongqing (Huang Xiaoming), Wang Yang (Tong Dawei), and Meng Xiaojun (Deng Chao) - achieve success by establishing a reputable English teaching school.

This monthly event is completely free, and refreshments will be provided!

This event is cosponsored by the OCA-WHV.

Unattended Children

Parents and Caregivers should be attentive to children under their care at all times during the program. Children are not permitted to be left unsupervised by their caregiver unless over the age of 10.
