Program Description

Event Details

Join us in the Meeting Room North South for a family friendly Chinese language film. The Scarsdale Public Library has partnered with The Horace Greeley Chinese Club, which proudly works to provide Chinese families with an environment where their culture is celebrated and appreciated through films. Each film will be screened in either Mandarin or Cantonese with English subtitles.

This month's film is The Farewell (2019). After her beloved grandmother is diagnosed with terminal cancer, a Chinese-American woman returns to China for a family gathering secretly designed to say goodbye to the matriarch. However, when it becomes apparent that grandma is the only one unaware of the diagnosis, she struggles to keep the secret. Starring Shuzhen Zhao, Awkwafina, Hong Lin, Tzi Ma, and Diana Lin.

This monthly event is completely free, and refreshments will be provided!

This event is cosponsored by the OCA-WHV.
