Join Dr. Michael Alcée to learn more about Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) as he discuss his new book, The Upside of OCD.

Many OCD sufferers fail to improve using standard therapy treatments. However, clinical psychologist Michael Alcée contends it is not the patients who are failing the treatment, but the treatment that is failing the patients. Using vivid case examples, practical exercises, personal anecdotes, and inspiring stories, The Upside of OCD illuminates the creative powers that allow OCD sufferers to see the world with unique depth, feeling, and intensity, while inspiring them to embrace their strengths and harness their capacity for greater joy and connection.

Michael Alcée, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist in Tarrytown, NY, and a mental health educator at the Manhattan School of Music. He is the author of Therapeutic Improvisation: How to Stop Winging It and Own It as a Therapist and was the recipient of the American Psychological Association’s Division 39 Schillinger Memorial Award in 2019.  Alcée has been a TEDx
speaker and is a regular contributor to Psychology Today. His work has also been featured on NPR, in The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, and more.
