"Mostly Motown, Volume 1," is a captivating journey through the timeless rhythms of classic R&B and soul, paying tribute to an era when this predominantly African-American genre transcended boundaries and captured the hearts of mainstream audiences. In this unforgettable showcase, Rhonda Denét brings to life iconic songs that were immortalized by legendary female artists like Martha & The Vandellas, The Supremes, and Aretha Franklin, along with unforgettable tunes by male artists like Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and more.
Denét grew up in Washington, D.C. and realized at an early age that music would be a driving force in her life. She earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from New York University and a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Florida State University. Following her graduate studies, Denét returned to New York City with a conviction not only to become an active member of its vibrant musical community but to create new opportunities that would reflect her soulful artistic expression. Based in Newark, New Jersey, the jazz/soul vocalist, songwriter, bandleader, music historian, and entrepreneur makes a full-time living doing what she LOVES…making music.
