What's Over Your Shoulder?

Recently the New York Times published a fun article in which the bookshelves of famous folks were visible over their shoulders during interviews. Check it out here . Despite my lack of fame, I figured I’d join in, hence my messy bookshelf up there to the left. All titles below are linked to Cloud Library or Overdrive .

Maybe you Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb. A counselor gets counselled. An easy, comical and illuminating read.

Long Bright River by Liz Moore. Takes place in Philadelphia, two sisters born to a mother with a heroin addiction. One is a detective, the other is missing and appears to have taken the same route as their mother. An engrossing and unpredictable read.

Adele by Leila Slimani. So well written, but not nice or easy; actually, graphic and uncomfortable, but compelling. This is the same author that wrote The Perfect Nanny , and if you have read that, you know that she has no fear when exploring characters that seem irredeemable, and you know she does a brilliant job.

The Dry by Jane Harper. Full disclosure, I took this from my nightstand and put it on the shelf, because I am reading it now. This is a true page- turner, heavy with outback atmosphere and perfectly spare in detail.

If you are interested in any of these books, they are linked, if you need help with our eBook apps, let us know!
