Favorite Family Read Alouds

Reading as a family isn't just fun, it builds children's imaginations and vocabularies, and expands their worlds. 

Here are our top three tips for reading aloud with kids!

1. Read with enthusiasm! Try to capture the mood of the book, and do the voices. 
2. Ask "what" and "why" and "how" questions as you read. "What do you think will happen next?"; "Why do you think the character did that?"; "How do you think the story will end?"
3. Don't be afraid to cut the book short! Sometimes it's better to have a good experience reading only half a book or a chapter, than a frustrating experience trying to finish when your child just isn't in the mood.
