The word shrimp comes from the Middle English shrimpe, meaning “pygmy” or a reference to the crustacean itself. In the 7th century, shrimp and other seafood composed the majority of the Chinese diet, and still does today.
As with other seafood, shrimp is high in protein but low in food energy. As amazing as shrimp tends to taste, a shrimp-based meal is also a significant source of cholesterol. Shrimp however, is considered healthy because of the lack of significant saturated fat. Therefore, feel free to indulge! For this recipe though we will still have your summer bod in mind and keep it fairly healthy.
