Individual Study Rooms
The Scarsdale Library has three individual study rooms located on the far side of the main reading room next to the large print collection. Patrons must sign up to use a study room at the Circulation Desk. The rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis and are for individual use only. There is a time limit of 2 hours per use. If no one is waiting, you may continue to use the room. Cell phone use is not allowed. Please inform the Circulation Desk when you leave.
The Jaffin Room is located on the far side of the main reading room near the Young Adult collection. It is a small meeting room suitable for groups of up to 15 people. The room can be reserved up to 3 months in advance at the Reference Desk. There is a time limit of 2 hours per use. If no one is waiting, you may continue to use the room. The room cannot be reserved in advance for individual use. If the room is not in use individuals may sign up to use the room with the understanding that they will be asked to move if a group requests the room. Click here for the complete Jaffin Room policy.
The Scott Room is located on the left-hand side of the main lobby when you first enter the library. The room has a maximum capacity of 252 with fixed seating and 117 with tables and chairs according to the Scarsdale Fire Department. There is a screen, digital projector, and sound system to support movies and presentations. Fees for room use range from $50 to $300. The Scott Room cannot be used for private parties or programs and events involving the sale, advertising, solicitation or promotion of commercial products or services immediately or at a future time.
