  • Ancestry Plus – Includes U.S. Federal census, American genealogical biographical index, immigration list index and more. NOTE: This database cannot be accessed from home.
  • Business Insights: Essentials – Detailed company and industry news that includes profiles, company histories, brand information, rankings and investment reports, etc.
  • Castle Garden Immigration Center – is an educational project of The Battery Conservancy. This free site offers access to an extraordinary database of information on 11 million immigrants from 1820 through 1892 
  • Consumer Reports – Access to all the ratings, reviews and articles of the magazine, plus frequent updates and a convenient Shop Online feature. Limited to Scarsdale cardholders.
  • CQ ResearcherLimited to Scarsdale Cardholders. CQ Researcher provides in-depth coverage of the most important issues of the day. The reports are written by journalists, footnoted and fact-checked.
  • eLibrary Elementary – Contains over 140 magazines and books for elementary students. Also includes the American Heritage Dictionary.
  • Directory of Open Access Journals – A service that covers free, full-text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals.
  • Gale Newsstand – Full-text newspaper database has several NY newspapers, including the NY Times from 1995-Present, as well as over fifty national and international newspapers. Click here for a title list. (Full-text)
  • Gannett Newstand Complete – Contains over 85 Gannett newspapers, 6 of which are New York newspapers. These include the Ithaca Journal, Poughkeepsie Journal, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, Journal News (White Plains), Press and Sun-Bulletin (Binghamton) and Star-Gazette (Elmira).

  • Local History Photographs – Digitized photographs from our local history collection on stored on flickr.
  • Local History Photographs at hrvh.org – A collection of images from two sources: digitized from slides collected by the local photographer Harold Haliday Costain; photographs by local photographer Elizabeth Arey. Check back often as more images are being added.

  • Scarsdale Inquirer Digitized Collection – The Scarsdale Library and the Scarsdale Historical Society have joined forces to digitize the Library’s collection of the Scarsdale Inquirer. Digitization began with issues from 1901 and will eventually go through 1936. The digitized collection is full text and fully searchable. (Full-text)
